Monday night (7/26), Rockford's Finance and Personnel voted to pay a survey company to determine of a bike path along Spring Creek Road would work, according to mystateline.com.

The Rock River Reclamation District will be installing new sewer lines beneath Spring Creek Rd. from the Rock River to east of Alpine Rd. The hope is that the bike path construction will happen alongside that construction project. This would create a bike path connection from the river to Spring Brook Rd.. Monday night's decision means that a survey company will be paid $60,000 to determine if this side-by-side construction plans are feasible.

The plan to conduct the survey goes before the whole council, for a full vote, next week. If the measure is passed, it should take about 2 weeks to decide if the plan is feasible.
