A $16 million construction project is set to begin. One of Rockford's busiest intersections will test your patience for almost an entire year.

Construction to replace a sewer trunk is scheduled to begin this Fall. And, according to wifr.com, the Reclamation District wants to be very transparent when it comes to the work they have planned on a road that so many of us take every day.

Now the parts of this construction project that will test your patience:

But you must pass that test. The men and women working on this project deserve out respect and caution while enduring the process. Slow down and stay off your phone.

  • The project is expected to take a year
  • The project stretches on Spring Creek Rd. from Anderson Japanese Gardens to Alpine Rd. (Maybe spending time at Anderson Gardens will help calm your nerves)
  • Traffic will be cut down to 2 lanes and short turn lanes
  • The city will resurface the road after construction is complete in the spring of 2018.

And I 100% agree with these words from Tim Hanson with the Rock River Water Reclamation District:

"Keep in mind, this is a road that takes on about 30 thousand cars a day. It's going to be congested. We suggest when we do start that construction, that you find an alternate route to your destination. It would be best to stay off that road altogether if you can do that."
