The world's largest music festival, Summerfest kicks off tomorrow, June 29th, and of course I plan on attending. There have been times I've planned my entire summer vacation around it; putting together a spreadsheet of artists that I want to see and days I plan to attend.  Ok, so I'm exaggerating a little bit with the spreadsheet, but fans of the festival do tend to put together a handy little list of who's playing and when so they can plan accordingly.

If you are planning on attending Summerfest this year, there are a few more things that you should plan for, and it's not bring more beer money. However, you might be ready for one after waiting in long lines at the gate.

For the first time ever, Summerfest is teaming up with local police, the FBI and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to provide a fun and safe environment for you and the family.

According to Today's TMJ4, full metal detectors will be installed and used on everyone who enters the gates. Additionally, they won't be allowing backpacks, knives, firearms, selfie sticks or picnic baskets.

The festival adds that if you must bring a bag that there will be separate security line that will more than likely be longer and the bag can't be larger than 9x10x12.

With the added security, are you more likely to go to Summerfest, or will you avoid it completely? Sure it's an inconvenience, but I'd rather feel safe and secure; how about you?
