Teacher of The Week Described as a "Godsend" by a Parent

As a parent, I think one of the best feelings is sending your kid off to school knowing they're in great hands.

When a kid comes home from school talking about how much they love school and love their teacher, that's the biggest win. That's the exact feeling Amber Carmona has when she sends her kid off to school to be taught by our brand new Teacher of The Week.

Congratulations to Karla Cruz from Barbour Elementary School! She was nominated by Amber and her nomination letter reads -

Mrs. Cruz is a godsend. She is truly the most loving and caring teacher I have ever met. Mrs. Cruz started out by teaching my oldest son Manuel who is now in 3rd grade and now has our youngest son Casey in kindergarten. This year has been a difficult year to say the least but she has always been ahead of every situation to still make learning fun. Barbour is a dual language school speaking Spanish and English so on top of the challenges of learning two languages and all while dealing with Covid my son Casey has opened up so much and enjoys school so much. I want to thank Mrs. Cruz from the bottom of my heart she is truly a born teacher. Can't wait for my daughter who is currently 3 to have Mrs. Cuz as a teacher when she goes to kindergarten!

Getting to talk to Karla on the phone was such a treat. She is so amazing as a teacher and as a human. We got to drop off some treats to Karla to help celebrate her. She got a delicious cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes and a beautiful floral arrangement from Broadway Florist.
