Teacher of The Week is a Bright Light in Her Students’ Lives
There's nothing better than knowing that when your kid goes off to school, they love their teacher and are having fun. Our brand new Teacher of The Week makes sure that her kids are taken care of and that they thrive in her classroom.
Congratulations to our new Teacher of The Week Amanda Milazzo from Brookview Elementary School in Rockford! Amanda was nominated by parent Cathy Fatjo and the nomination letter reads -
My daughter and I moved back to the Rockford area after being gone for 5 years and last year was really hard on her transitioning to a new school and she did not do well last year. Fast forward to this year her 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Milazzo has been a blessing she has called me via Zoom to come up with the best plan for my daughter who has ADHD. During this pandemic meeting and communicating with teachers is challenging for us because we can't meet face to face, but she has been great. She has definitely been the bright light in my daughter's life and when we had to go remote, she was she was there reassuring us that she is keeping the kids on the same schedule as if they were in class. She has been a great role model as a teacher. Maddie loves going to school and loves Mrs. Milazzo, we are so proud and happy to have her as Maddie's teacher this year, and she truly is a gem.
After speaking with Amanda we got to see how much of a gem she truly is! She is so deserving of this nomination and we got to stop by the class to show her some love. We dropped off a delicious bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes and a beautiful floral arrangement from Broadway Florist.
Congrats again Amanda!
