The Wait for Cherry Valley’s Fleet Farm Will Now Be Even Longer

Everybody has been asking for months; will Cherry Valley be getting a Fleet Farm store or not?!?

You want the good, or the bad news first?

Good news is, yes, Cherry Valley will still be home to a new Fleet Farm. Bad news is, we're going to wait even longer for it open.

Jim Claeyssen, Village President of Cherry Valley, recently told 13 WREX that the Fleet Farm project has been put on hold, not by the Village, but by the the company itself.

WREX reports;

Claeyssen says the village was planning on starting road construction this summer on S. Bell School Rd and Charles St. in anticipation of a new Fleet Farm store, but then the company put the project on hold.

Claeyssen says the village has secured all the needed properties and right of ways to build out the S. Bell School Road and Charles St. road project to accommodate a major development onto the proposed 22-acre site.

So....what happens next? They don't know.

WREX says more information is expected from Fleet Farm later this year, and that Claeyssen hopes construction on the Cherry Valley store will begin in the Spring of 2020.
