USPS Text Scam Deceives Illinois Residents—What You Need to Know
So many scams have been targeting Illinois residents lately, and we can't seem to get away from the unsolicited texts. Every day, there's a new one. The newest one looks so real even I almost fell for it.
Just last week, a fake Illinois Tollway message was hitting cell phones across the state informing residents of "unpaid tolls" they needed to pay asap. Even people who haven't traveled through tollways were receiving the scam-like messages.

Here's what the text says.
"USPS package has arrived at the warehouse and could not be delivered due to an invalid zip code address being detected. Please confirm the zip code address information in the link.

First off, USPS would never send a text like that. Second, the link is totally a scam.
If you've received an unsolicited text saying your response is required to receive your package, don't click the link! This is called "smishing".
