Vacant Lone Star Restaurant On East State Street Demolished, BBQ Joint Coming in December
We've all been wondering what was going at the vacant Lone Star Steakhouse on East State Street for a while and now it's really official.
I wondered aloud last week and asked, and thanks to you I got a few answers.
A representative of Phoenix Builders said they were going to tear down the old Lone Star Steakhouse and put in a brand new restaurant called Smokey Bones.
Well, WREX can now confirm the rumor. Yes, Smokey Bones is going where the now demolished Lone Star Steakhouse used to stand.
According to WREX:
The casual dining restaurant offers wings, burgers and BBQ.
The construction company working on the building says it should be ready by the end of the year.
Do you think there's enough room for another BBQ restaurant in Rockford? Let us know!
