This is going to sound like it could only happen in a movie but it's real and you better be on the lookout for this dangerous plant because it has arrived in the Midwest.

"Wild Parsnip", a very poisonous plant, has started to appear in Illinois and other states in the region, according a story at wgntv.com. And here's the part that makes this SO IMPORTANT to be looking for. You'll find this poisonous plant in open fields, roadside ditches, along bike trails and in prairie areas. Everywhere you might be in shorts and sandals this Summer.

While this toxic plant looks like a wild flower, there's nothing pretty about what it will do to your skin. The parsnip's sap will cause severe reactions that will last for weeks and give you scars that will last for years. It could even send you to the emergency room.

So what does "Wild Parsnip" look like:

The parsnip flowers between May and July and can grow up to six feet tall.
