Let’s Debate: Are Illinois Residents Really That Messy?
Okay, let's be real for a second. Life gets chaotic, we don't have time to clean our house, and keeping things neat and tidy just isn't on our mind.
If you had to choose, would you rather have a messy car or a messy house?
Apparently, 75% of people with messy homes reportedly feel stressed or anxious about having clutter around them.
For me, a messy house is a better option because it's easier to spread the clutter to where it doesn't look messy. You feel me? My opinion is the more "unpopular opinion" according to the rest of Rockford, though.
Most people said they'd rather have a messy car because if their house is dirty then they wouldn't be able to relax. I totally get that! But imagine you have to pick up a friend and they have to wait for you to clear off everything piled on your passenger seat.
Here's what a ton of Rockford residents had to say about it:
A car, home is where you relax. Car is business and quick trips. I can't stand a messy car, but are you cool with mud and gravel in your house vs mud and gravel in your car and the likelihood of it getting vacuumed could be a week or so. Thats the real question. - Sarah L.
Messy car. Cause if I see a messy house i can’t relax in it! - Michael T.
neither I can’t stand a messy house or a messy car. Because if your car is messy, that tells me your house is messy. - Mary C.
So, the consensus is that Illinoisans are pretty tidy people. Nice!
I'm not saying my house is super messy, but I don't have all the time in my day to keep it looking perfect. Yes, dishes are neglected sometimes, laundry ends up on my floor, and I have a few empty water bottles in my bedroom. It happens! LIFE HAPPENS!
At the end of the day, the state of your living space can have a serious impact on your mental well-being. Keep it clean, or don't. Your choice!
