My family LOVES animals, and seeing cool animals is one of my kids' favorite things to do. They LOVE watching animal videos on YouTube, they love reading books about them, and they especially love seeing them in-person at the zoo. Going to Summerfield Zoo in Belvidere is always on our summer to-do list, and I know my girls will be over the moon when they find out we will be able to go there soon!

I am not ashamed to admit I have been stalking Summerfield Zoo's Facebook lately to see when they announce opening weekend for the 2021 season, and this week I finally found what I was searching for...

Since the COVID-19 pandemic isn't fully behind us yet, all Summerfield Zoo visitors are asked to wear face masks and maintain social distancing while at the zoo, but you'll be happy to know all their usual attractions will be open this season. (My girls especially love feeding the baby goats with bottles).

If you really want to make your family's experience at Summerfield Zoo special, don't forget they offer 'Breakfast or Lunch with the Otters', private encounter sessions with some of their animals, birthday parties, field trips and special tours! (Get more info here)

One last thing, if you have some animal-obsessed children in your life like I do, Summerfield Zoo also offers summer camp options! Half-day or full-day options are available, as well as certain themed weeks to choose from. Registration usually fills up quick (trust me, we've missed out on it in past years), so you better get your kiddos signed up right now, here.
