Loves Park Dog Saves Owner From House Fire

A 7-year-old German Shepherd from Loves Park named Buster is a hero for alerting his owner to a fire in their home, which nearly took his life in the process.

I know my three dogs love me unconditionally, but could they save my family from dying in a house fire? I sure hope so, but fear they would be terrified and just hide instead. I mean honestly, could we blame them for doing so?

When I saw Buster's story yesterday, it brought tears to my eyes. His home on River Park Road in Loves Park may be a total loss, but the story could have ended so much worse if it wasn't for Buster's heroic actions and the awesomeness of some Loves Park first responders.

Good boy, Buster! You deserve a whole case of treats for that one.
