Rockford Will Host a Girls Baseball Tournament Next Summer

Is this the return of the Rockford Peaches?

Kind of!

Oh 'A League of Their Own.' By far one of my favorite movies growing up. Without that movie we wouldn't have, "There's no crying in baseball... you're gonna lose... Muel! Nag!"

It's a great movie, but of course a great real life story, too and it's even better that it includes some awesome Rockford history.

Next summer, Rockford is getting back to those girl baseball roots by hosting a girls baseball tournament.

Even better, the opening and closing ceremonies for the tournament are at the same field the original Rockford Peaches played, Beyer stadium.

This is the third year, 'Baseball for All' will be holding their tournament, and Rockford seemed like an ideal place to hold this year's event, both for the history and the geographic location.

The tournament will be held at the end of next July and you can get more info on the Baseball for All website.
