Rockford’s Salvation Army in Need of Donations For Winter
The Salvation Army in Rockford needs donations to make sure it can still help people in need throughout the area. We're officially in the heart of winter and the brutal cold that the Midwest brings every year. So it's time the community comes together to make sure everyone is warm, safe and taken care of.
The Salvation Army is an amazing resource for those who need a little bit of help, especially during the cold months. One program in particular has really helped turn a lot of people's lives around. The Salvation Army's Adult Rehab Program. WIFR details -
The rehab center helps men who are down on their luck or struggle with substance abuse. They come here and get job training, housing and food. After a six month course or sometimes a year course they are ready to step back into society.
Money made from items sold at the center are used to support this program, but the center is running low on supplies. According to WIFR -
Being that it is winter, we are still accepting and looking for winter weather coats, jackets, shoes, clothes in general. Other furniture items are very much in need as well.
If you want to help, you can donate items at any Salvation Army store. Monetary donations are collected in the red kettle or online.
