Congrats to 97 ZOK’s new Teacher of the Week, Mrs. Laura Brown, Kindergarten teacher from Brookview Elementary, who celebrated her honor with the world famous Harlem Globetrotters.

The 2 winning nominations came from Anne Pierce and Tanya Tullock, Anne writes:

Mrs. Brown is always ready to give my son the extra love and attention he needs!

Tanya writes:

I could go on and on about Mrs. Brown but the conversation I had with my 5-year-old daughter says it all.

Kayla: I don't want weekends anymore

Me: Why?

Kayla: Because I want to go to school everyday. I just love my teacher.

My son also had Mrs. Brown 5 years ago. It is so cute to watch my daughter come home from school singing songs she learned at school that help teach her something and my son will finish the song for her.

The faculty and students were packed into the gym for a visit from Anthony 'Buckets' Blakes (who's professional basketball career began with the Rockford Lightning) and Orlando 'El Gato' Melendez of the Harlem Globetrotters

Mrs. Brown won a box of amazing Sugar Jones cupcakes, beautiful flowers from Broadway Florist, $50 in services from Xeno Salon and tickets to the see the world famous Harlem Globetrotters on December 27th at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

After their chat with all of us on 'The ABC's of Bullying Prevention', 'Buckets' and 'El Gato' invited a few students and teachers to enter the 'Magic Circle' of basketball tricks.
