Teacher of the Week: Mrs. Englekes from Jean McNair Elementary
Congratulations to 97ZOK's latest Teacher of the Week, Mrs. Englekes from Jean McNair Elementary in Winnebago.
Englekes was nominated Lacey Robbins, a parent of one of her students. Robbins says:
Mrs. Englekes has gone above and beyond for my daughter this year. My daughter has always been behind in reading. When starting this school year I was able to express my concerns and felt that my daughter was always getting to a certain point and then passed on to the next grade/teacher. By the first parent teacher conference Mrs. Engleskes looked at me and said I get and understand what your concerns are. She informed me of what her plan was going to be and simply asked for some time and just to trust her. Finally, someone listened to me and understood what my concerns were.
Mrs. Engleskes said she had my daughters back and she was going to get answers and the help that my daughter needed. We are now going into the 3 quarter of school and slowly but surely we are finally getting the answers that we have been looking for. This has been one of the best years my daughter has had. I don’t have to fight with her to go to school and there is no more crying about having to do homework and not understanding it. She isn’t worried about asking a question or too many questions. I could not think of anyone more deserving than Mrs. Engleskes!
Englekes received a cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes, flowers from Broadway Florist and a gift certificate from Oriental Trading Company.
