Teacher of the Week: Mrs. Wehrle from Maple Elementary

Mrs. Wehrle scored delicious cupcakes from Sugar Jones, beautiful flowers from Broadway Florist and $50 in services from Xeno Salon.

The winning nomination came from Beki Comito, Beki writes:

Mrs. Wehrle is a wonderful teacher and so much more! She makes learning FUN which helps engage the students better. She is great at working WITH parents, always open for suggestions to better help the students. She sees the whole pictures and sees her students for who they are, not judging based on a behavioral incident or other problem. She gets to KNOW her students and shows a genuine interest. She not only expresses concern when something is wrong but also lets the parents and students know what they are doing right!

Despite my son having a rough patch recently, I still received messages from her highlighting something he did that was great, not just telling me what he was doing wrong! My son has had other great teachers, but Mrs. Wehrle is the first teacher he has really loved. He went from hating to go to school to looking forward to going! Her witty sense of humor helps keep him engaged and chuckling through his school day! He comes home almost every day with a new story of fun things they did at school. It is wonderful to know that when you send your child off to school they will be in good hands!!! Mrs. Wehrle deserves to be recognized for all she does for her students! As my son often says, "Mrs. Wehrle ROCKS!"
