I played baseball. It was little league, so I've seen some fast pitches but nothing quite as fast as a 97 mile per hour pitch. When I watched the video, I flinched.

Can you imagine, getting hit with a pitch thrown this hard anywhere? The hand? Face? Ouch.

You know what else? Nobody ever talks about baseball umpires when they are standing behind home plate. Sure they're wearing a facemask and a chest protector, but they wear nothing on their hands.

Check out the video and tell me if you'd like to stand in the batter's box or better yet, behind the catcher without a glove?

Sounds crazy. I'm glad I work in radio, I'm a lot less likely to get injured.
