White Sox Discontinue Plastic Straws

I've never liked drinking from a straw. I like stirring my drink with one, then I toss it out before going for a sip and stabbing myself in the eye. Straws are evil.

We Americans go through 500 million evil plastic straws everyday. And as I'm sure you've already guessed, they're not biodegradable. The White Sox organization, along with the Shedd Aquarium, are working to eliminate plastic straws from stadiums because of their impact on the environment, according to wgntv.com.

Starting Aprill 22nd, which is Earth Day, you will no longer get a plastic straw with your drink at Guaranteed Rate Field. If you find yourself going through straw withdrawals, you can ask for a biodegradable straw, and they will oblige you.
