The International Women's Baseball Center is moving to Rockford, home of the Rockford Peaches, home of the greatest women's baseball team in history.

While the official announcement won't come until Labor Day weekend, the IWBC is moving their facility in California, to a building across from Beyer stadium. That's the stadium that was home to the Rockford Peaches, according to mystateline.com. In the 12 seasons of the All American Girls Professional Baseball League, the Peaches amassed the best record in the league and were featured in the movie A League of Their Own directed by Penny Marshall and starring Madonna, Geena Davis and Tom Hanks

Dr Kat Williams, board director of the IWBC says Rockford is the perfect location for their new facility.

The Center will not only be a museum of sorts, it will also include educational, training, and museum facilities for girls and women’s baseball, with additional room for clinics.

The public is invited to the official announcement ceremony at 6 p.m. on September 3 at Beyer Stadium.
