It's early, but David Ross hire is looking pretty good.

FOX ran this package last night before the Cubs-Brewers game (which the Cubs dominated) and it perfectly summed up the transition from Joe Maddon to David Ross while also showing how much each manager meant to this team.

Joe Maddon had his flaws but was probably the perfect guy to guide a young 2016 Cub team to a World Series. The team is different these days, older and more mature, so they don't really need the "Maddon" influence to keep them on track. They learned from him and many of his ideals and processes are still present in the Cubs clubhouse. It was just time to move on and they fell into the perfect guy for the job.

David Ross obviously has the utmost respect from everyone on the team and it's paying off with an MLB-best record of 13-3.

The season continues with two more games against Milwaukee, then (a scheduled series, who knows with these Cardinals) a series against St. Louis, followed by the White Sox coming to Wrigley. It could be an all-time home stand.

Listen to every game right here on 1440 WROK and GO CUBS!
