Illinois Frontline Workers Receive Super Bowl Trip From Bears

Chicago Bears will send frontline workers from Illinois to the Super Bowl.

Recently, I saw an article stating we've reached the one year mark when COVID-19 started to infect people in the United States.

To me, it seems a lot longer. Even though I think we can see some light at the end of the tunnel, I believe we still have a long way to go before things start to return to some kind of normal.

Of course, the whole thing has put a huge strain on the world's healthcare system, especially, the workers. The essential frontline workers are the heroes. The pressure they go through on a daily basis is unbelievable. If you have been to the doctor's office in the past several months, you know the protocol needed just for that visit. Think about what those employees have to do every day. It would become very stressful.

I have a few friends and family members that work in health care. They are worn-down from working long hours in those volatile conditions. A heavy burden is sitting on their backs.

I am so glad that they are getting the appreciation they deserve. People, patients, families, businesses, and more are going out of their way to show them some love. It might be as little as making a sign or maybe bringing the hospital staff meals. Sometimes it is something huge.

As I watched the NFL playoffs over the weekend, I heard the announcers talking about how a few thousand Super Bowl tickets were going to healthcare workers in the Tampa area. That is where the game is being held this season.

I thought wouldn't it be cool if some frontline workers from Illinois got to go to the game too. I know the Bears aren't playing but the Super Bowl is such a special experience, that it does not matter. Well, I was pleasantly surprised that it was really going to happen.

"Four Chicago area health care workers who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 are getting the chance to go to Super Bowl LV in Tampa Bay, thanks to the Chicago Bears and Advocate Aurora Health. Former Chicago Bears cornerback Charles Tillman surprised the participants from Advocate Aurora. Precautions such as increased physical distancing, face coverings, hand hygiene stations will still be observed at the festivities."   

A big congratulations to the lucky fans. Enjoy the well-deserved trip and game. Thank you to all the essential workers for doing what you do.
