Big-hearted, wonderful, helpful, supportive, fun, and polite, and she always gives second chances. These kids love their teacher, and we do too.

Throughout the school year, we receive many letters from parents, nominating a teacher for the special honor of becoming 97ZOK Teacher of the Week. Those letters always speak to how good the parents feel knowing their child is in that particular classroom.

The letters we get from actual students also include those good feelings, but their list of reasons why it feels so good in that classroom is very different.

Congratulations to Renee Allen from Keith Country Day School in Rockford, Illinois. Mrs. Allen was nominated by two of her students, Armon Esfahani & Hunter Yardley, they write:

Mrs. Allen is a wonderful and kind teacher. She will let people have class pets such as 2 browser stuffed animals. She also is the host of a lot of fun classes such as Creative Writing, English, and MSSG (Which plan all the fun events) Overall she is a great teacher and helps the students understand the material better. Making them smarter.

Mrs. Allen is a very nice and kind teacher. She will help you anytime during class or when you are at home. She proctors so many classes that are all fun. She always cares for her students and gives them a lot of help with anything they work on. Finally, there are Rec Nights that students have a lot of fun at and they have a lot of snacks, Mrs. Allen sponsors/directs all the Rec Nights.

Mrs. Allen is a kind-hearted English teacher. She is always willing to help out whether it's another teacher or a student. She always deals with bad behavior well. She never really lashes out at students, is always polite, and gives second chances to all students.

During a phone conversation with Renee, we discovered that she and her students like to do their classroom work with the fluorescent lights turned off because they all prefer a few lamps with softer light. Me too.
