"Alright, alright, alright," the Matthew McConaughey "Dazed and Confused" audition from over 20 years ago has just been released.

In case you didn't know, "Dazed and Confused" was McConaughey's first kinda sorta big role. If anything, it was the first movie that I took notice of him.

"Dazed and Confused" came out in 1993. The following year, I started college.

Needless to say, I watched "Dazed and Confused" a bazillion times. Need a quote from the movie? I got one.

Back to the audition, here's a really cool story about how McConaughey got a shot at the movie.

According to FilmDrunk,

He (McConaughey) was just ridiculously handsome, insanely laid back 23-year-old who had met the casting director of Dazed and Confused at the Hyatt bar where McConaughey’s buddy used to bartend and give him free beer (yes, that is the true Matthew McConaughey origin story)."

After he landed the part in "Dazed and Confused," he then moved to California, took another audition (this time for "Angles In The Outfield"), got that gig and the rest is history.

If we could only forget "How To Lose A Failure To Launch Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past Wedding Planner Fool's Good In Ten Days" era.
