Is it a coincidence that this study came out right before the Super Bowl? I think not.

Grab your dad, your brothers, your best friends, look them in the eye and say, listen... beer might be good for your brain.

According to a new study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.

Researchers were working on studying Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases and how different antioxidants could affect the brain's ability to fight them, and they hypothesized that an antioxidant found in beer, xanthohumol, could help prevent the oxygen's effect on your DNA that might produce those diseases.

I know, that is a LOT of science. But the point is, beer might help stave off these brain diseases and that is good news.

We are still waiting for more details on how much to drink and when, but while we wait, we can all get ready for Barb City On Tap, a three hour event where you will have over 100 craft beers to sample at the NIU Convocation Center in DeKalb.

Sounds really good for your brain.
